Christmas in a bag! Let me introduce you to one of my favorite German Christmas cookies, the Spekulatius! They taste good plain, but my favorite way is to dunk them in fruit tea, yumm! Some people like to leave the bag open for a couple of days, which makes them softer. Check out the funny shapes before you have a bite. :) I used to have my mom send me those from Germany but I did find a place in the US to actually purchase them at: ALDI! Make sure to check out the other German chocolates usually located to the left or right at the entrance of the store! I also found "Christstollen" there last year, let's see if they offer them again this Christmas. "Christstollen" is another German original, it's a fruitcake made of nuts, spices and raisins! Pair that with a glass of hot cider, or even some "Gluehwein" (hot wine punch, this product can be found at World Market; please drink responsibly). They also offer a virgin version called the "Kinder Punch" so everyone can enjoy this beverage. World Market has a lot of other German goodies, like Adventcalendars, gingerbread and various other Christmas cookies.
May ya'll enjoy your pre-Christmas shopping! :)
